🎨 6 Incredible Artists You Need to Know About 🎨

Freelance artists are people who are commissioned to create a specific piece or series of pieces for clients. They can be graphic artists, sculpture artists, painters, etc and are typically self-employed. Personally, I feel that too often freelancers get overlooked because they can be hard to find. In an effort to create more awareness for freelance artists (and small artists in general) here is a short list of super cool and amazing artists that I know of. Feel free to commission them and check out their sites. Even an Insta follow would help. So without further ado here are 6 Incredible Artists you Need to Know About.

    ♐️ Sun Series: Sagittarius ♐️

Hello and welcome back to Astrology Thursday!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Per usual a lot of the information on this first page is going to be pretty similar to what I put on my other sun series articles. (What is a sun sign, more about the series, etc.) So if you wanna skip ahead to the Sagittarius part go ahead.

Every Thursday I do an article about something Astrology related. I’m starting with going through the sun signs, then the moon signs, then the rising signs, and proceeding from there through the planets and houses. I know that a lot of people don’t believe in astrology and that’s fine, these articles aren’t gonna be about convincing you. (Although I probably will try sometime in the future). I just find astrology fascinating and informative. I’ve also discovered a huge community of like-minded individuals who have the same beliefs about it as I do and this is my blog and I can do what I want here.

So let's get into some astrology shall we?

First, if you’ve never heard of a sun sign here’s the basics. Each astrology sign holds unique properties which influence our lives in different ways. Although people often refer to each of these signs as ‘their sign’, the correct term is ‘sun sign’ which means the position of the sun in the Zodiac the moment you were born.

Overall Astrology is extremely complex and the sun sign is just a very small part of who you are as a person. If you are a Gemini and don’t really relate to these traits it’s likely because you have many strongly placed other signs in your chart that dull the quality of your Gemini sun.

A sun sign is basically the sign that governs your personality and is a reflection of your soul, your ego, your inner self and determines your basic approach to life. You also have your moon sign and your rising sign which contribute significantly to your character, dreams, relationships, and temperament.

Astrology has an impact on your approach to life and how you respond to any given situation. For instance, if your sun sign is Cancer you may use emotional appeal to get things done the way you want and generally just as the crab walks sideways you take an indirect approach. If you were an Aries however, you would take a more direct and physical approach to get things done.

You also have a moon and rising sign, which - very basically, breaks down to your moon is your emotional self and your rising is how you appear to the outside world. It's also your gut reaction to things. For an Aries rising, your typically knee-jerk reaction to things would be to get angry.

Sun Sign key words: basic nature, basic personality traits, values, the “big picture” of your overall personality, consciousness, basic identity, basic ego

NOTE: You are a Sagittarius Sun sign if you are born between November 23rd and December 21st although the exact time varies every year so if you were born near the transition you should check to be sure what your sun sign is. I really like the website astro.com. Just type in your birthday, time of birth, place of birth, and it will give you your accurate sun, moon, and rising sign.

    ♐️Sun Series: Sagittarius ♐️

Sagittarius is the 9th sign in the zodiac wheel. Its symbol is the Archer. It is a fire sign, the other fire signs being Aries and Leo.

Sagittarius are really fun people to be around. They are very positive. Sagittarius just live in their own happy little world. They are ruled by Jupiter so they are very lucky people who go through life easily. Jupiter is the planet of luck, good fortune and exploration (academically, physically and spiritually). Sagittarians are very confident - almost too much so. This can be an annoying trait at times, but Sagittarians just know their worth. Many of them end up becoming celebrities.

They know that they are smart, witty, and beautiful. They can come across as thinking that they’re better than other people. Not every Sagittarius is like this obviously, although some really show this trait (think DJ Khaled). Confidence like that isn’t always a bad trait. People wish they could have the confidence of a Sagittarius.

Sagittarians are born to succeed. They are good at everything. They know how to put in work, how to work towards a goal, and they’re confident in their ability to reach these goals. They know they’re gonna get there. When a Sagittarius doesn’t have their eyes set on some goal they can feel very lost.

They like to feel happy and like to make others feel happy. They’re the most optimistic sign by far, they always see the glass half full. They are the type of friend who will always be there to encourage you. They are always aware of the positives. They could be a motivational speaker because they’re so good at encouraging people.

They are very very nice people. (The nicest in my opinion). They just don’t have a mean bone in their body. Sagittarius offers so much to other people. They are very generous and loving. They’re not the type of person to do a favor for you and then expect something nice in return. They’re just happy to do things for people.

They are very kind-hearted but they don’t have time for negative people. They are very aware of who sucks the energy out of a room and they do not give any of their energy to these people.

They are easy going and very very honest. Almost to their detriment. This is something they need to learn to reel in a bit. They can be a gossip sometimes and when they don’t like someone they can be a little too honest and mean. They can be vain and insult someone based on their appearance or intelligence. They really don't like unintelligent or uninformed people.

They are very outspoken, they’re not afraid to say how they feel. They don’t hold back. They are very expressive and want to let it all out.

They want the best of the best and they’re not going to be devalued in any way. They know that they are worth more. Sometimes they can come across as pretty preachy. Every fire sign has an inter competitiveness and wants to be better than you in some way. A Sagittarias might do this but in a passive-aggressive sort of way. Like dropping comments while an Aries would be very in your face about it.

When it comes to their love life and social life they are very outgoing and flirty. A lot of them go through relationships pretty fast. They’re the type to have multiple partners throughout life. They’re just meant to explore and discover new things. Sagittarius in particular don’t like feeling contained and have a hard time committing to just one person. This doesn’t mean that a Sagittarius will never marry, it’s just not something high on their to-do list. They like being single and they like their freedom.

They enjoy talking to people and sharing ideas. They are very social people. They are also the sign of higher learning and tend to be very smart. They love learning new things. They can go deep with you and analyze the world with you. They are wise beyond their years.

They like to enjoy life and can be a little materialistic. Whatever they’re into they want the best. They can be a little vain in that they really care about their appearance. They present themselves really well.

They are extremely adventurous people. They love to travel. They really have a strong need to travel. They are very active, usually hiking, playing sports, etc. They’re exciting and they know how to take a risk. They have to be in control of what they do. They like to have an open schedule and have a hard time committing to things.

They do not like to be bored. They have to switch it up all the time. They want to explore the world. Sagittarius cannot be kept in a cage. A Sagittarius that’s being held back or held down by one thing or another will never be happy. They do not have strong opinions.

They hate rules, they hate authority, they don’t like people who take life too seriously. They just wanna have fun and are all about risks. They can be a bit reckless with money. Their philosophy is that they could die tomorrow so I might as well spend what I got. They like to treat themselves and like to treat others.

They are very independent. They don’t like routines and they don’t like doing things the normal comfortable way. They avoid serious discussions and don’t deal with their emotions. They don’t like letting their emotions show.

Every sign brings certain traits to the world. Sagittarius brings their easy-going, light hearted nature.

    🌿 The Cannabis Conspiracy 🌿

“The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I’m saying? We knew we couldn’t make it illegal to be either against the war or blacks, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders, raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did.”

                                                                                                      ~ John Ehrlichman

Cannabis originated in Asia and has been cultivated and used by humans for at least 12,000 years. When Europeans first came to America their sales were made of hemp fiber. “It was so fundamental to America’s foundations that its image was printed on money.” The Vikings and medieval German civilizations used weed to relieve pain during childbirth. The idea that weed is an “evil drug” is a very recent construction and the fact that this plant is illegal is a historical anomaly.

The US has a long history of criminalizing cannabis. It's been used as a tool for both mass incarceration as well as for its medical benefits; such as to fight the side effects of cancer chemotherapy.

“Cannabis sativa, known as marijuana, has psychoactive properties. The other plant is Cannabis sativa L. (The L was included in the name in honor of the botanist Carl Linnaeus.) This subspecies is known as hemp; it is a non psychoactive form of cannabis, and is incredibly versatile and extremely useful. It can be used for a wide variety of products including rope, textiles, clothing, shoes, food, paper, bioplastics, insulation, and biofuel. CBD oil especially has recently become extremely popular. You might have seen it at your local health food store. It’s in lotions, lattés, etc. But what is CBD oil?

CBD is cannabidiol and it’s essentially oil taken from the cannabis plant with the THC removed. THC is what gets you high, CBD is what makes you healthy. It used to be classified in the same category as heroin and cocaine. CBD is now legal in all 50 states because it can be separated from THC. *(If CBD comes from a hemp plant with less than 0.3 percent THC, you can buy it under federal law — but some states still have legal restrictions on the possession of CBD.)

Some health benefits of CBD include helping to manage anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain, depression, alleviate cancer symptoms, and even combat against arthritis pain. Like with any drug, CBD affects people differently. Some negative side effects include, liver problems, diarrhea, vomiting, and fatigue. According to Dr. Greenspoon of Harvard University there just hasn’t been enough research done to say for sure what exactly the positive or negative effects are. CBD is currently mostly available as an unregulated supplement. That being said, it’s popularity has continued to grow and the positive side effects greatly outweigh the negative effects to a lot of people. You can likely get CBD at your local health food store or you can order some online.

THC is another cannabidiol and it's what gets you high and it’s usually what people associate with the green plant. Countless smear campaigns by various different companies paint people who smoke weed as losers/druggies/the lowest of society but that's just not true. There are so many healthy benefits of THC that it just makes no sense that it would be illegal.

Most drugs are neurotoxic, meaning that they kill brain cells. (Like cigarettes and alcohol). But THC is considered to be neuroprotectant. Which means that it actually protects brain cells from damage. A study in 2014 found that people with THC in their systems were 80 percent less likely to die from traumatic head injuries than those without.

THC has also shown to be a highly effective treatment for PTSD. Some psychiatrists even say that THC-rich cannabis is the only treatment for PTSD. It may also stimulate brain growth. It stimulates a process in your brain known as long-term potentiation which improves the brain’s ability to learn.

Scientists also discovered that like CBD, THC causes brain cells in the hippocampus to grow. Some research even suggests that THC can protect spatial memories. This is why cannabis can be used to treat brain diseases such as Alzheimers.

Other THC benefits include that it is an antioxidant, it’s antibacterial, a bronchodilator, and an anti-inflammatory.

For something with seemingly such good healthy benefits, why would the government try and make it illegal? There are a lot of conspiracy theories about this. I'm only gonna touch on a few, but if you’re super interested in this stuff there are countless documentaries you can watch on the subject. It's truly mind blowing and there's definitely something going on.

    The Theories

    • During Nixon's presidency he criminalized drugs to make his enemies - black people and left leaning hippies - look bad. (This was the quote at top of the article.)
    • Marijuana has the potential to help people open their third eyes and connect spiritually to the earth/universe/etc. By keeping deep spiritual connection cut off it creates a society that is easy to control.
    • Cannabis can be used for so many things and would solve a lot of problems. Therefore there would be less problems to solve to make money off of.
      • Cigarettes and alcohol both cause a lot of health problems that lead to both medical bills and death costs. Without their prevalence in society there would be less of these costs therefore less money to make off them. Keeping people sick means more money to make off of their suffering.
      • With more problems there’s more ways to profit off of half-assed solutions.
      • Things Cannabis can be used for…
        • Paper - (Hemp fiber is stronger than wood fiber and it doesn’t turn yellow and is very durable. They are also much faster to grow than trees)
        • Hemp seed can be used to make biodegradable plastic, removing toxic waste needed to make oil-based plastics
        • A large variety of food products can be generated from hemp. The seeds contain one of the highest sources of protein in nature. (They also have two essential fatty acids that clean your body of cholesterol.)
        • Medical Marijuana is natural and healthier for your body than chemical treatments
        • Clothing, paints, etc. can also be made from cannabis
      • “Pot is illegal because billionaires want to remain billionaires”

To me, it doesn’t make any sense for this plant to be illegal. The whole premise is stupid. How can you make a plant - something that's natural that comes from the earth - illegal? Especially when you consider the medical benefits and how it can be used to reduce costs and environmental impact in industrial ways.

George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and many other founding fathers even grew Cannabis. From 1763 to 1769 it was actually illegal to refuse to grow Cannabis in Virginia. (G. M. Herdon. Hemp in Colonial Virginia).

To me, it seems pretty obvious that this is all a conspiracy to keep people from having access to a plant that would solve a lot of problems. From medical issues to industrial sustainability, it makes more money for people for there to be more problems in the world.

The good news is that the social stigma around Hemp/weed is changing and so far 11 states have fully legalized recreational marijuana. CBDs health benefits and popularity is spreading far and wide and Hemp clothing/products are gaining in popularity as well. The University of Connecticut even has a college course on growing weed.

It’s truly just a matter of time before Cannabis is fully legal and utilized the way it should be. And honestly it’s about damn time we did.

    ♏️ Sun Series: Scorpio ♏️

Hello and welcome back to Astrology Thursday!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I don’t know about you but I’m so ready to move on to the moon signs. But anyways…

    ♏️Sun Series: Scorpio ♏️

Scorpio is the 8th sign in the zodiac wheel. Its symbol is the Scorpion and it is a masculine and fixed sign. It’s a water sign, the other water signs being Cancer and Pisces.

If there’s any sign that goes hard for astrology is Scorpio. I believe that it is one of the most misunderstood signs. They have a strange detachment from the rest of humanity that you can only really understand if you’re a Scorpio. Scorpios may feel lonely because they feel that no one could really understand them. They feel that other people just aren’t on their level.

Scorpios are very deep and mystical individuals. They feel that they were meant to do big things. Scorpios are very unique in that they are ruled by Pluto and Mars. Aries is the other sign ruled by Mars. It is the warrior planet while Pluto is the God of the underworld and the dead. Scorpios are very intense. Pluto is also the planet of regenerating, meaning new life, by ending life. They are familiar with the dark side and the dark side within themselves. They like dark things and tend to become interested in True Crime, murder mysteries, paranormal, aliens, anything weird and occult. They are typically very spiritual.

Water signs in particular are very interested in religion, spirituality, etc. They are most connected to the other side and Scorpios in particular crave that closeness to the other side. They can come across as very guarded and intimidating. They don’t like to drink (alcohol) around people they don’t know well because they don’t like opening up and losing the control they have over themselves.

They are constantly scanning the room and other people to get as much information as they can. Not in a collecting data kind of way, they are picking up on people’s energies. They know when someone is lying. They are complex and mysterious although they may not mean to come across this way. That’s just how they are.

They have a secretiveness about them that makes them especially intriguing to people. Scorpios are very attractive and sexy people. They are very good at only letting people see a certain side of them and they can see straight through other people. They can just tell when someone is a good person or not and they know when other people are putting up a façade. It’s like Scorpios can see straight to the core of people and they know your intentions immediately.

Most Scorpios are very honest; they just withhold some information. They can be good truth manipulators. They just don’t share what they don’t think is necessary to share. They are truth seekers.

They are a fixed sign and when they commit to something or someone they are completely committed. Not the sign to cheat at all, they are extremely loyal to the ones they love. Very passionate to the point where it’s borderline obsessive. If they really like something they could commit their lives to it intensely. Like if they really love music they could commit to making music their whole lives or if they love religion they could devote their lives to the church. They take things to the extreme.

Water signs in general are more connected to the other side and are more likely to be psychic. Scorpios in particular, since they’re ruled by the underworld, tend to be mediums and can communicate with the dead.

They are very imaginative, and are great storytellers and writers. They have a strong connection to music. They can be moody. They make good undercover detectives. They like to investigate and find out as much as they can about people - especially potential love interests.

The dark and intense side of them tends to overshadow the good parts of them. They are very kind, generous, and loyal people. They are extremely loving, devoted, and humble.

They are typically successful because they don’t give up easily. They are the most sexual sign by far. Aries is considered to be the other most sexual sign. They can be into some weird sex things but they don’t judge other people’s kinks at all. Almost nothing is weird for a Scorpio. They have high sex drives and are adventurous.

Part of being a water sign is being emotional. Scorpios are highly emotional but they show it differently than other people or they just hold it inside. They’re the type to express their emotions through music or art. They feel everything very intensely.

They are very mature and serious people. They understand the seriousness of life. They cannot stand being around immature people. They are usually very independent and like being alone. They hate relying on other people, they just don’t trust em. They are just naturally emotionally strong.

They can be possessive and controlling. They are especially jealous lovers. They just like to feel that they are in control of their future.

They can be super fucking mean. They know how to hurt people. There is a part of them that doesn’t care about hurting people. They can be too truthful. They can hold a grudge and be vengeful. It seems like Scorpios are either really good at letting things go or they just can’t let it go and they could seek revenge.

Scorpio is the sign that has produced the most killers. This is for a lot of reasons, for one they’re ruled by the planet of death, they are extremely passionate and intense and are possessive lovers. If they have been cheated on they can honestly just lose their fuckin minds. Not all Scorpios are like this obviously, but being ruled by the underworld gives you some weird traits.

They are good people who make excellent friends. They are the type of friend that will literally fight for you on your behalf. They will defend your name at all costs if you are their friend.

Scorpios tend to do well with money. They are a force of nature. They have an incredible ability to be extremely focused when they want something. They will find strength and energy when other signs will just give up. They are strong willed, and won’t let disappointing situations derail their life.

Every sign brings certain traits to the world, Scorpio brings the intensity of the dark side.

Keywords: Dark, mystical, powerful, strong, mysterious, sexual, intriguing, secretive, truth seekers, intense,

🔱 The Lost City of Atlantis 🔱

Many of you probably know about the Lost City of Atlantis and no I’m not talking about  the Atlantis resort or the Disney movie. I'm talking the real Lost City of Atlantis.

First of all, how do you lose a city? Well after thousands and thousands of years places can get lost and buried. This isn’t a new phenomena if you’ve ever studied Anthropology, Archaeology or History. There were many civilizations that have come and gone that we don’t know anything about.

Atlantis is considered by many to be mythical, as in it was never a real place. The only reason we even know about Atlantis is because the famous Greek philosopher Plato wrote about it in his books Timaeus and Critias. His writings were so detailed that it has led many to suspect it being a real place. Plato is the reason we know about a lot of things in history, a lot of his writings were factual not fantasy. He is kind of known as a factual authority for the ancient world.

The whole section he provides on Atlantis is like a mini history book. The thing is, he says that Atlantis was waayyy before even his time. So we’re talking like ancient ancient. For many many years this was taken as just a story but in 1870 a man who read the Iliad by Homer. Took his book and used it has a map to find the City of Troy and he actually found it. This discovery really changed everything. People started to think that maybe these aren’t just stories… maybe they’re guide books. History books but in a more artistic language.

This is what inspired many people to search for the lost city of Atlantis. According to Plato, Atlantis existed 9,000 years before he was born. He said that it existed in the Atlantic Ocean outside the pillars of Hercules. He said that Atlantis was mighty, powerful, and advanced. According to him it was placed on a lush island, surrounded by mountains with beautiful nature, and exotic animals.

According to him Atlantis was a port city with 3 layers of rings around the center. He even gave exact dimensions for the whole city. Experts who study Atlantis think that it was probably extremely advanced. Their technology was likely comparable to our level, but with a different technology base. Ours is based on electronics, etc. While the Atlantians are theorized to have had their technology based on harmonics and crystals.

Here's how Plato says it all went down. He said that this was a city of love, harmony, and peacefulness. They were peaceful with other countries but eventually greed was their downfall and their entire city was destroyed by Poseiden (the God of the Sea). He said that there were natural disasters that struck. Earthquakes, volcanos, tsunamis, etc.

There are many different groups of researchers who are actively looking for the lost city of Atlantis and they are looking in all different parts of the world. There are an incredible amount of theories but I’m only gonna talk about a few because if I didn’t this article would be 10 million pages long.

One of the biggest and most believed theories is that it is under a big national park in Doñana National Park in modern day Spain. Scientists have been able to send satellites up that can see under the ground and they’ve found what appears to be rings in that area. They can’t just go digging in this area however because it’s a national park and its probably really really deep and hard to get to. Governments don’t let people go diggin around just for fun either, you have to have a lot of proof before anything can really be done. Not to even mention the enormous amount of funding that would be needed for this.

When they measured the rings and everything, it matched the dimensions that Plato had written. Down to even the structures. Plato mentioned these statues and scientists can see with their satellites places where these statues could still be and it is the same exact dimension. Geologists say that they’re very confident that these are human-made structures.

About 120 miles away from Doñana, there is another ancient structure called Cancho Roano that is set up pretty much exactly like Atlantis but on a much smaller scale. Some people believe that this was a memorial set up by some of the survivors of the people of Atlantis because the city appears to be more of a replica of a city rather than an actual functional city.

Plato says that the story of Atlantis was told to him by the Greek legislator Solon who heard from the priests of Ancient Egypt. It seems like the Egyptians had direct contact with the Atlanitans. At the site Cancho Roano, ancient egyptians artifacts were found. It appears that the people who created Cancho Roano used the same symbols as the Egyptians. At the site, there is even a drawing of the city of Atlantis with 3 concentric circles. In some Egyptian cities, there's even writing on the walls about the city.

Atlantis was very well known for its metals and it was a very wealthy city. Other civilizations would travel for years to the city just to get some of these metals. There is one specific metal that historians think Atlantis was known for called Orichalcum. This Orichalcum was considered very rare, second only to gold and was used to decorate Poseidens temple.

There are some other theories about where the City is. Some people think that it’s under the water in Spain. Their theory is that when all of these tsunamis happened it probably just brought everything out to sea. There are other theorists who think that Atlantis was actually the Minoans.

In the Bible there are stories about cities called Tarshish and Tarsus. These were described as port cities that were thriving and incredibly wealthy. It also said that people would travel for 3 years just to get to these cities. Both of these cities just ceased to exist all of a sudden. Some people think that the bible was actually referring to Atlantis and that is just wasn’t called Atlantis at the time.

There is a theory that states that the Mayans are actually descendents of people who escaped Atlantis. People think this because a lot of their culture was the same and the ways that Atlantis was described could also apply to Mayan civilization.

Some people think that the City was swallowed up by the Bermuda Triangle. There are also a lot of people who think that Atlantis is actually in Antarctica. This whole theory started because of a man named Charles Hapgood who wrote a book in 1958 called The Earth's Shifting Crust. According to him 12,000 years ago the earth's crust shifted which is why the city is in Antarctica right now. He believes that it’s somewhere beneath the ice. (There are so many conspiracies about Antarctica there is an article coming up in a few weeks). Some people think that the island of Santorini in Greece is actually where Atlantis used to be.

There are so many different theories to look into I can't possible get to them all but if you are interested in learning more I really suggest looking to Graham Hancock. He has a lot of interesting theories and is just an interesting man in general.

A lot of people think that Atlantis was completely fictional. Which is possible. Some historians think that Plato made this up because he was describing his ideas for a perfect civilization and that it was a cautionary tale about greed.

What do you think? Was it all made up or is there some truth to it?

I think that it was real. Cities like this existed thousands of years ago and there's so many reports of ancients having power that we don’t have. I like to keep an open mind about these things, because we just don't know. Maybe its not meant to be found? Maybe its supposed to remain a mystery. 😏
