Per usual a lot of the information on this first page is going to be pretty similar to what I put on my other sun series articles. (What is a sun sign, more about the series, etc.) So if you wanna skip ahead to the Leo part go ahead.
Every Thursday I do an article about something Astrology related. I’m starting with going through the sun signs, then the moon signs, then the rising signs, and proceeding from there through the planets and houses. I know that a lot of people don’t believe in astrology and that’s fine, these articles aren’t gonna be about convincing you. (Although I probably will try sometime in the future). I just find astrology fascinating and informative. I’ve also discovered a huge community of like-minded individuals who have the same beliefs about it as I do and this is my blog and I can do what I want here.
So let's get into some astrology shall we?
First, if you’ve never heard of a sun sign here’s the basics. Each astrology sign holds unique properties which influence our lives in different ways. Although people often refer to each of these signs as ‘their sign’, the correct term is ‘sun sign’ which means the position of the sun in the Zodiac the moment you were born.
Overall Astrology is extremely complex and the sun sign is just a very small part of who you are as a person. If you are a Gemini and don’t really relate to these traits it’s likely because you have many strongly placed other signs in your chart that dull the quality of your Gemini sun.
A sun sign is basically the sign that governs your personality and is a reflection of your soul, your ego, your inner self and determines your basic approach to life. You also have your moon sign and your rising sign which contribute significantly to your character, dreams, relationships, and temperament.
Astrology has an impact on your approach to life and how you respond to any given situation. For instance, if your sun sign is Cancer you may use emotional appeal to get things done the way you want and generally just as the crab walks sideways you take an indirect approach. If you were an Aries however, you would take a more direct and physical approach to get things done.
You also have a moon and rising sign, which - very basically, breaks down to your moon is your emotional self and your rising is how you appear to the outside world. It's also your gut reaction to things. For an Aries rising, your typically knee-jerk reaction to things would be to get angry.

NOTE: You are a Leo Sun sign if you are born between July 22nd and August 22nd although the exact time varies every year so if you were born near the transition you should check to be sure what your sun sign is. I really like the website astro.com. Just type in your birthday, time of birth, place of birth, and it will give you your accurate sun, moon, and rising sign.
♌️ Sun Series: Leo ♌️
Leo is the 5th sign in the zodiac. It is a masculine sign and their symbol is the lion. It is a fire sign, the other fire signs are Sagittarius and Aries.
Obviously not every Leo is exactly the same, your behavior and character is greatly influenced by the entirety of your birth chart. However here are some basic traits of a Leo.
Leos love to be talked about and love when it’s all about them. They are very hard to dislike. For the most part they are really easy going and easy to get along with. Although sometimes they can be a bit too much and hard to handle. They are ruled by the sun, which is considered a planet in astrology so they are the center of the universe. And they believe this. A lot of them wouldn’t admit this but deep down they would always put themselves first. A lot of Leos get shit for being too selfish and full of themselves. However this is something that other signs can really learn from Leos.
An unevolved Leo can be narcissistic and manipulative so beware of the bad ones. This usually occurs in younger Leos who haven’t had the time to grow up yet. If this is the case beware of entering into a relationship with one of these unevolved Leos. It takes time for a Leo to tone down their ego enough to care for someone other than themselves. An unevolved Leo can take too much without giving enough in return. They might not see that they took too much from you because in their mind they deserve it. They need to be with a strong partner that can stand up for themselves and demand that they be treated as an equal. It may take some time for a Leo to understand that they are selfish and an even longer time for them to change this behavior. Once they’ve evolved a bit, they are very kind, generous, and loving people. They are a fixed sign so once they commit to someone, they are fully committed.
They are incredibly independent and like to make their own way in life. They are very good and taking care of themselves and are not the type to need a relationship. Many prefer to be single. They know how to take care of themselves and make themselves happy. They are always their own number one in their hearts. Which is really how it should be for all of us. Selfishness can be an issue though. Leos need to learn to give TLC to the people around them as well. Especially in relationships, Leos can forget to give attention to their other person.
They are very confident and have no apologies for being themselves. They don’t care if people don’t like them. Which is something we can all learn from them. They are typically very good looking people and usually have very nice looking hair (think Lion's mane). Their hair is usually the dominant feature for them.
They hate to admit when they’re wrong. Throughout life they need to learn to tone down their own ego. They like to be center stage and center of attention. They are natural performers. Many of them are actors, singers, entertainers of some kind. They have a strong desire and drive to be successful. Fire signs in general are very competitive and driven people. Leo is a fixed sign so once they set their goals on something. They will see it through to the end.
They are more strongly affected by failure than any other sign. They really need to succeed in life and failing at something can really knock them down for a while. They thrive off of being the best. They can become depressed if they’ve failed at something but that doesn’t usually last for too long because they are very quick to get back up. They are determined at won’t stop pursuing their goals if they’ve had a setback.
They are the type to usually be dressed up and wear makeup everyday. They like looking good, and they want people to look at them. Selfie King and Queens. A good way to get a Leo to like you, is to compliment them. They like to spend their money on flashy, nice things.
They are the best friends to have. They are just warm and loving people. Extremely friendly, supportive and encouraging of their friends goals. No matter how weird it is, a Leo friend will support you. Because Leos have this non-apologetic attitude they don’t judge other people. They are some of the kindest people in the zodiac. They really don’t have a mean bone in their body. They’re very forgiving and up lifting. Not the type to say something nasty about people they don’t know.
They are extremely helpful to have when you’re feeling down. They will coach you back and help you regain confidence again. If you don’t put in work and attentiveness into your relationship with a Leo they will forget about you. It’s not that they don’t love you, they’re just very in the moment. If you’re not really active in their life they won’t go out of their way to see you. You’re the one that has to make an effort with a Leo. They’re the type of friend that you won’t see for a long time and then when you do see each other it’s like you're just picking up where you left off.
They have no time for mean and petty people. When they get mad beware. They are very competitive. They are extremely loyal and if someone insults their friend or someone they care about they won’t hold back. They have an extremely aggressive side that really only comes out when they’re angry.
They like to go out, they like to have fun, they like to be in a group. They have an extreme struggle with jealousy. Such as if someone got first place and they got second, if someone has something they want. Serious relationship jealousy.
They are normally very energetic and flirty. They like to be single and may have a hard time settling down and making a commitment. It’s just because they like to do things themselves. They don’t like asking for favors, they don’t want handouts, they want to take care of themselves. However when they do finally make a commitment, they’re one of the most loyal signs. They like to be single because when they are in a relationship, they want to be 100% loyal and expect the same in return. They usually fall in love with people that you wouldn’t expect. Usually with people who aren’t like them. They just see different sides of people than the rest of us do. They see the things that most people miss.
They do not like authority, they do not like rules, and they will not be bossed around. Don’t ever try and tell a Leo what to do. They have a very carefree nature to them. They just want to do what they want to do. It’s almost childish, Fire signs in general have a childishness to them. Leos are the kings of being childish however this isn’t always a bad thing. They are just fun and playful. They usually have a childish/immature sense of humor.
They have a tendency to be over dramatic. This is just how they express themselves and there's no use in telling them to calm down. They want to experience life, and enjoy themselves. They like to travel, see the world and be adventurous. They crave adventure. Their carefree nature can bother some people. They just don’t take life seriously. They avoid talking about serious things or feelings.
Every sign has certain traits they bring to the world, Leos bring their self-centeredness, confidence, kindness, and their loving and adventurous nature.
